Brief set by Laura Jordan Bambach and Jo Hagger from Glue London: ‘A day in your life’
I was nominated for ‘Graphic Pathway System’ and Thursday night I got the first prize, a yellow pencil and something to brag about
A daily, ritualistic occurrence within my life as a contemporary urbanite, is my navigation around central London on a bicycle. Whist exploring the city, travelling to college, to work and to visit friends- I am conscious that I am consistently re-routing geographical pathways and familiar terrain.
To clarify and record these movements I have engaged in the recording and measuring of these journeys utilising a GPS (Global Positioning System). Data generated is then re-interpreted towards the production of graphic plotting imagery that can be viewed as statistical data or simply enjoyed as continuously evolving ‘digital painting’.
