Make Things Physical

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 1:06 pm

For my final major project at college I chose to do a research project about analogue sensors, the Make Controller Kit and Adobe Flash. The ‘make’ page on this blog was used for documentation during the project.
The final presentation is a simple Flash site showcasing footage from a series of ideas and experiments. The project gave me a couple months of focus to learn and build what I now see as a starting point for some new and bigger physical interactive concepts and applications.

I will share my experience in a presentation about how to get started with this popular controller and analogue input as interface for Adobe Flash. It’s on the 26th of July in the London Flash Platform User Group.
Adam Robertson will also be there to talk about ‘Wii Flash integration’ so even more good reasons to come around for a drink and a night of ‘body moving Flash’

SMILE documentation

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 8:33 pm

This is a 2 min video that show my installation for the ‘Seduce Me’ show at Chelsea college of art and design. The piece was on for a week and to my joy it didn’t crash, not even in the hands of children.
The application is made in Adobe Flash and is powered by a Mac mini, Make controller Kit, a push button, a webcam and a 12V light bulb.
My concept was to repurpose CCTV with the title ‘SMILE, wall of fame’
If you have a webcam you can try a simple online version here
